Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate mechanical and electrical product designs to identify potential failure mechanisms, reliability concerns, and design vulnerabilities.

  • Investigate potential failure causes and provide engineering recommendations to mitigate risks and improve product reliability.
  • Develop test methods and validation strategies to simulate mechanical, electrical, environmental, and operational stresses that could contribute to product failures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate design alternatives and support product development decisions.
  • Utilize AI-enabled tools and analytical methodologies to accelerate engineering assessments, improve documentation, and streamline reliability analysis processes.
  • Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, and recommendations to communicate findings to engineering teams and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Reliability Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in product design, engineering analysis, product reliability, failure analysis, or design validation.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and their potential failure mechanisms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and recommend practical engineering solutions.
  • Ability to develop technical documentation and communicate findings effectively.
  • Onsite requirement in Indianapolis, IN.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing DFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), or similar reliability and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Experience developing test methods to simulate real-world operating conditions, accelerated stresses, or anticipated failure mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with both mechanical and electrical product design, including interactions between these systems.
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering principles, root cause analysis, and design verification and validation.
  • Experience using AI tools, automation, or advanced analytical techniques to improve engineering workflows.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary product development teams
