A typical day as a Buyer II might include: Adhering to purchasing policies and practices to ensure highest quality, appropriate inventory levels, timely delivery, and competitive cost from suppliers. Assisting in the execution of strategic sourcing plans to support company objectives. Learning to identify the risks to SEL's supply chain; including overall market trends, capacity constraints, commodity risks, and business conditions for manufacturers and suppliers. Creating and improving supplier partnerships by communicating SEL expectations in accordance with World Class Manufacturing principles and escalating issues that arise. Continuously improving in the areas of business professionalism, purchasing fundamentals, time management, data analysis, supply chain management, supplier development, cost reduction strategy development and negotiation techniques.
