Senior Manufacturing Supervisor (MTI Build Team) This is an opportunity to lead the Manufacturing Test Infrastructure Build team in Pullman, WA. The Manufacturing Test Infrastructure team builds test stations, fixtures, and cabling used to perform electrical tests on SEL products. As Manufacturing expands, we are growing our capacity and establishing dedicated flow lines for high-demand test stations. In this role, you will develop leaders and guide the associate supervisors establishing the new flow lines and the existing MTI Build team across day, second, and weekend shifts. You’ll coordinate people and resources and apply World Class Manufacturing principles to establish the processes and capacity needed to deliver reliable test systems. Why This Work Matters Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories exists to make electric power safer, more reliable, and more economical. Every SEL product is tested before it ships, and the test systems this team builds are what make that testing possible. Strong leadership and reliable build processes help keep product quality high across every factory we support. Manufacturing expansion is driving increased demand for test infrastructure. To support that growth, you’ll help establish a new approach to building test stations that can scale to producing multiple stations every week while continuing to support the work of the existing Build team. A Typical Day Might Include: Leading and developing associate supervisors and supporting the flow-line and existing Build teams across shifts. Guiding the establishment of test station flow lines, including staffing, floor layouts, workflows, and capacity planning. Supporting the development of consistent processes, procedures, and work instructions, and coordinating materials and inventory for upcoming work. Setting priorities, coordinating resources, and monitoring progress to meet build and delivery commitments. Collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and other partners to solve problems and plan upcoming work. Establishing expectations for safety, quality, and craftsmanship across work from drawings and wiring through assembly and verification. Coaching and developing employees, supporting performance and engagement, and planning for team growth. Working with teams to improve flow, reduce waste, solve problems at their source, and strengthen coordination between shifts. Fostering SEL culture and addressing detractors to our values. Modeling, teaching, and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles. This Job Might Be For You If: You are passionate about developing leaders and helping teams do their best work You are excited to lead the establishment of new flow lines while supporting an existing team You enjoy building scalable, repeatable processes and improving flow, quality, and delivery You can set priorities and coordinate people and resources across multiple teams or shifts You work with others to solve problems at their source, take ownership, and follow through You value safety, quality, and continuous improvement You communicate clearly and collaborate with people from different disciplines You are interested in contributing to the stability of critical infrastructure A background in electronics assembly, cabling, manufacturing, or test systems is a plus.
