As a Charge Nurse RN, you'll provide exceptional patient care while leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes. What You'll Do Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient conditions. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care. Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to coordinate patient care. Administer treatments, medications, and nursing interventions. Provide patient and family education to support positive outcomes. Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation. Lead daily operations by coordinating staffing, assignments, admissions, transfers, and discharges. Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff. Support quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives. Qualifications Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Associate Degree, Diploma, or BSN). Current RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure. BLS certification through the American Heart Association (or obtained within 30 days of hire). Preferred: Charge nurse or leadership experience. Specialty certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, OCN, CPHON, C-EFM, or other unit-specific certifications. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Transforming the Health of Our Communities Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes.
