Connect with a career that matters, and help us build a safer future What Unified Communications Means at Motorola Solutions Motorola Solutions designs its UC ecosystem so that frontline workers, field technicians, office supervisors, and public safety personnel can collaborate seamlessly regardless of the device they carry or the network they connect to. Key principles include: Any Network, Any Device: Connecting traditional two-way radios (such as MOTOTRBO or APX P25) directly to smartphones, tablets, laptops, and dedicated broadband push-to-talk (PTT) handhelds. Instant Push-to-Talk (PTT): Expanding high-reliability, sub-second PTT audio from dedicated radio talkgroups to cellular and Wi-Fi networks. Integration of Voice, Video, and Data: Unifying voice talkgroups with streaming video (body cameras, fixed surveillance), multimedia messaging, GPS location tracking, and telemetry. Core Products & Services in Motorola’s UC Portfolio WAVE PTX (Broadband Push-to-Talk) A subscription-based carrier-independent cloud service that turns smartphones, tablets, and PCs into push-to-talk communication devices. Allows office staff on smartphones or desktops to talk directly into frontline radio channels without needing a physical radio. Bridges MOTOTRBO/TETRA/P25 radio systems with cellular networks. Critical Connect A cloud-based interoperability platform designed specifically for public safety and critical infrastructure. Enables mutual aid and cross-agency collaboration by federating disparate communication systems (e.g., allowing police, fire, emergency medical services, and utility teams across different jurisdictions and radio frequencies to join shared talkgroups seamlessly). Hybrid Smart Devices (e.g., MOTOTRBO Ion) Ruggedized devices that combine the mission-critical audio and durability of a two-way radio with the multimedia and touchscreen capabilities of an Android smartphone. Connects simultaneously to DMR radio frequencies, LTE, and Wi-Fi to keep workers connected both inside plants and out in the field.
