  • Ensure that cross-cutting priorities, including protection and inclusion, are integrated across all programmes and activities.
  • Maintain a regular field presence through visits to programme locations.

  • Represent the Country Representative in her/his absence, as required.

  • Experience within the Red Cross / Red Crescent Movement is a strong asset.
  • Experience in one or more core areas of cooperation with URCS is a strong asset: health and social services, civil protection, disaster management, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
  • University degree or diploma in international development, business management or another relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience in supporting a National Society or local partner in programme development and management, including assessments, design, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Core competencies for all delegate positions: National Society relations, teamwork, results orientation, communication, trust-building, integrity, and diversity and cultural sensitivity.
  • Role-specific competencies: self-motivation, critical and analytical thinking, excellent coordination and negotiation skills, strong time management, and ability to travel frequently to programme locations.
  • Strong motivation for humanitarian and development work, commitment to Red Cross values and principles, and sensitivity to diversity. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
  • Solid skills in donor reporting, accountability and compliance.
  • Capacity-building, facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a demanding security environment.
