Urology Research Fellow.

STAFF LEVEL
At Cleveland Clinic Health System, we believe in a better future for healthcare. And each of us is responsible for honoring our commitment to excellence, pushing the boundaries and transforming the patient experience, every day. We all have the power to help, heal and change lives — beginning with our own. That’s the power of the Cleveland Clinic Health System team, and The Power of Every One. Job Summary What are we looking for? Cleveland Clinic London is looking to recruit a Urology Research Fellow to join the Department of Urology. Reporting to Professor Nathan Senthil and working in partnership with the departmental research lead and consultant urologists, you will support the delivery of clinical research, quality improvement and academic activity during a fixed-term fellowship from January to August. This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor with experience in urology and clinical research to develop practical capability in research methodology, critical appraisal, data management, analysis, academic writing and responsible research conduct, while contributing to departmental research and service improvement objectives. What makes us different? Cleveland Clinic London offers a high-acuity clinical and academic environment where caregivers work alongside experienced clinicians and contribute to evidence-based practice and service improvement. Our mission, 'Caring for life, researching for health, and educating those who serve', reflects our commitment to patient care, research, education and professional development. Within the Department of Urology, you will receive appropriate supervision while taking ownership of agreed research and audit objectives, with opportunities to present findings and contribute to abstracts, posters, conference presentations and peer-reviewed manuscripts. What will your duties include? Initiate and progress one or more urological research projects, supporting study design, protocol development, approvals and delivery of agreed objectives under appropriate supervision. Undertake literature reviews, identify research gaps and contribute to the development of research questions, methods and evidence-based academic discussion. Collect, organise, validate and manage clinical research data in accordance with approved protocols, confidentiality, data security and governance requirements; undertake analysis and support interpretation of findings. Complete a relevant quality improvement project or clinical audit and contribute to recommendations that improve patient care, clinical outcomes or service delivery. Prepare and disseminate findings through departmental and governance meetings, abstracts, posters, presentations, final reporting and manuscripts, while supporting the wider urology service and patient care where appropriate. What we need from you? MBBS or an equivalent medical qualification, together with current GMC registration and the ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English. Demonstrable experience in urology practice and clinical research, including the ability to contribute to project delivery, data management and academic dissemination under supervision. Experience of quality improvement or clinical audit, with an understanding of research ethics, confidentiality, clinical governance and responsible research conduct. Critical thinking, sound judgement and strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple project priorities, deadlines, data-quality requirements and milestones during a fixed-term fellowship. Effective collaborative and professional communication skills. Experience of data analysis, abstracts, posters, presentations, manuscript preparation or participation in academic and governance meetings would be advantageous. Professional contribution and governance Attend relevant research, academic and governance meetings, including morbidity and mortality review where relevant, and provide clear updates on project progress, risks, outputs and next steps. Maintain accurate and current records of research activity, outputs, presentations and publications, and submit a final fellowship report covering findings, limitations and recommendations. Engage in patient care and support the wider urology service where indicated, within the duties of the role and the agreed level of supervision. Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required. Comply fully with Cleveland Clinic London safeguarding training, policies and protocols, and identify and report concerns promptly in accordance with the organisation’s safeguarding procedure. What can we offer you? As a private hospital with no shareholders, we reinvest profits back into our organisation. This means we can offer tailored support and development for caregivers, alongside benefits such as: 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays Auto-enrolment pension: 5% caregiver contribution and 10% Cleveland Clinic contribution through Salary Exchange Life Assurance, Private Medical and Dental Insurance, and Eye Care contributions Discounted gym facilities and a 24/7 Holistic Employee Assistance Programme Workplace Nursery Scheme, Season Ticket Loan and Cycle to Work Scheme Who we are?
