You’ll lead day-to-day operations across the surfacing function, balancing commercial outcomes with safety, quality and customer expectations. Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities Lead the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of surfacing work across the region. Drive planning, programming and resource allocation to meet contract and customer requirements. Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, cost control and profitability. Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, local authorities and internal teams. Grow team capability through clear leadership, coaching, feedback and performance management. Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with Minimum 3 years’ experience leading operational teams in surfacing, civil construction or a closely related field. BE, NZCE, or significant industry experience – asphalt laying and or chipseal surfacing operations and specifications. Strong commercial acumen, and experience managing budgets, costs, performance and risk. Confident to get out in the field, ability to relate to people on ground, and build crew and client relationships A confident, straight-up leadership style, ability to build trust, lift team performance and drive capability uplift.
