Vizient Intern Program Overview: This program is designed to foster a beneficial relationship and provide growth opportunities for Vizient, our employees, and collegiate students. Since 2000, our summer intern program has provided college undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students with practical experience that exposes them to multiple aspects of a career field and the healthcare industry. This full-time, paid intern program offers an opportunity to accelerate academic learning, apply classroom knowledge, and introduce students to a professional setting. Interns are assigned a supervisor to mentor/develop their business skills, as well as monitor their work experiences. Interns are integral members of the company’s team, setting goals, working toward deadlines, and actively participating in community service projects. The program requires the intern to commit to 10 weeks of participation in all formal training, mentoring, on-the-job learning, and opportunities to interact with senior leaders. Program starts June 1, 2027, and ends August 6, 2027 Pay rate: $25 per hour. About the Team and Role The Metrics & Reporting team within Product Operations develops reporting, analytics, data standards, and operational tools that help Product and Engineering leaders understand delivery performance and make informed decisions. The team supports enterprise product portfolio governance by improving the quality, consistency, and usability of data from platforms such as Power BI, Azure DevOps, and Jira. The intern will help strengthen decision-ready reporting by supporting dashboard development, validating product and engineering data, documenting metric definitions, and improving repeatable reporting processes. The primary project will focus on identifying reporting data quality gaps and helping automate a recurring product delivery performance scorecard or related reporting workflow. What You'll Do Support the development, maintenance, testing, and quality assurance of Power BI dashboards and recurring performance reports. Analyze and validate data from Azure DevOps and Jira to identify missing fields, inconsistencies, trends, and reporting risks. Document product and engineering metrics, calculations, source fields, business rules, and reporting standards. Assist with reporting automation and process improvements that increase efficiency, consistency, and data accuracy. Partner with Product Operations, Engineering Operations, product managers, product owners, and other stakeholders to clarify reporting needs. Create clear summaries, job aids, and presentations that translate analysis into actionable insights for business leaders. What You'll Learn How product portfolio governance and performance management operate within a healthcare-focused enterprise. Hands-on use of Power BI, Excel, Azure DevOps, Jira, and structured data-quality methods. How metric definitions, data models, and governance standards create reliable executive reporting. Professional skills in analytical storytelling, stakeholder communication, project management, documentation, and presenting findings. Qualifications Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Analytics, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Academic, project, or work experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis, including formulas, pivot tables, data cleaning, or visualization. Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or another business intelligence and data visualization tool; Power BI is preferred. Foundational experience with SQL, data modeling, data validation, or analysis of structured datasets through coursework or projects. Strong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving, written communication, and the ability to explain findings clearly. Interest in product operations, business intelligence, healthcare, performance reporting, or technology platforms. Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar work-management tools is helpful but not required.
