Account Supervisor Media.

FULL TIMEREMOTESALES & MARKETING

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Account Supervisor Media based in the United States.

As Account Supervisor Media, you will lead media relations initiatives that elevate healthcare communications and generate meaningful earned media coverage.
You will oversee day-to-day media execution, develop compelling story angles, and build strong relationships with journalists and key stakeholders.
Working across healthcare, pharmaceutical, and biotech accounts, you will transform complex scientific and medical information into engaging, accessible stories.
You will collaborate with senior media leaders and client teams to identify opportunities, strengthen communications strategies, and deliver impactful results.
This role combines hands-on media expertise, strategic thinking, client engagement, and team leadership.
You will also mentor junior colleagues, champion inclusive storytelling, and contribute to a collaborative, purpose-driven agency environment.
The position offers remote flexibility or the opportunity to work from a New York office.

Accountabilities:

    • Independently manage day-to-day media relations activities across multiple healthcare accounts, including outreach, journalist follow-ups, interview coordination, timelines, and deliverables.

    • Develop and execute media pitches, identify compelling story angles, and secure meaningful earned media coverage through proactive outreach and timely news opportunities.

    • Build and maintain targeted media lists using journalist beats, recent coverage, interests, and audience insights.

    • Draft, edit, and refine media pitches, interview backgrounders, talking points, key messages, media plans, and other client-facing communications materials.

    • Translate complex healthcare, scientific, and medical information into accurate, engaging, and accessible narratives.

    • Identify media opportunities by connecting client priorities with healthcare developments, industry trends, and the evolving news cycle.

    • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and strategic alignment of media deliverables while reviewing junior colleagues’ work and providing constructive feedback.

    • Support client communications through routine correspondence, progress updates, recommendations, calls, and presentations, working alongside senior colleagues as needed.

    • Prepare diverse spokespeople, including clients, key opinion leaders, patients, and public figures, for media interviews through reporter research, briefing materials, and anticipated questions.

    • Evaluate media coverage and outreach performance, interpret results against client objectives, and recommend improvements in collaboration with senior media leadership.

    • Coordinate with media and account teams to maintain alignment on priorities, deadlines, resources, and deliverables while proactively identifying risks and challenges.

    • Mentor and develop junior team members through thoughtful delegation, coaching, and quality reviews, recognizing when sensitive situations require senior involvement.

    • Leverage media monitoring and research tools to support outreach and stay informed about emerging media formats, trends, and opportunities.

    • Promote inclusive storytelling by ensuring diverse perspectives and voices are represented and supporting equitable distribution of assignments and development opportunities.

    • Share knowledge, insights, and innovative ideas with the broader media team and contribute to agency-wide learning and development.

    • Requirements:

      • 5–7 years of relevant experience in healthcare media relations, ideally with exposure to public affairs, pharmaceutical, and biotech clients.

      • Proven ability to pitch journalists directly, cultivate strong media relationships, and secure impactful earned media coverage.

      • Strong research and media targeting capabilities, with experience developing accurate, customized media lists based on journalist expertise, interests, and audiences.

      • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, including experience producing pitches, media plans, key messages, interview materials, and talking points.

      • Ability to simplify complex healthcare and scientific topics into compelling, clear, and factually accurate narratives.

      • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple media assignments independently, maintain timelines, coordinate interviews, and deliver high-quality work with minimal routine oversight.

      • Strong strategic thinking and judgment, with the ability to identify media opportunities and recommend approaches aligned with client priorities and broader communications objectives.

      • Excellent attention to detail and quality control, including reviewing junior team members’ deliverables and providing actionable feedback.

      • Strong interpersonal and client communication skills, with the ability to manage routine correspondence, provide updates, and contribute effectively to client meetings and presentations.

      • Experience preparing diverse spokespeople for interviews and supporting media training and interview preparation.

      • Analytical skills and the ability to evaluate media coverage, assess results, and recommend adjustments to outreach strategies.

      • Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate across teams, and proactively communicate risks or resource needs.

      • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and coaching capabilities, including experience assigning work, reviewing deliverables, and developing junior colleagues.

      • Familiarity with Muck Rack, Cision, or similar media monitoring and research platforms, along with an interest in evolving media trends and formats.

      • Commitment to inclusive communications, thoughtful collaboration, and equitable representation in storytelling and team development.

      • Ability to contribute ideas, share expertise, and support the continued growth and innovation of the media team.

      • Benefits:

        • Competitive salary: $90,000–$110,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations.

        • Flexible work arrangements, with the opportunity to work remotely from eligible U.S. states or from the New York office.

        • Comprehensive healthcare and wellness plans for employees and their families.

        • 401(k) retirement savings plan.

        • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).

        • Unlimited paid time off, including personal, sick, and vacation leave.

        • Paid holidays and Summer Fridays.

        • Family leave programs.

        • Well-being and wellness initiatives.

        • Commuter benefits.
