From initial design reviews and site surveys through operational readiness and final acceptance, you will ensure that complex systems are deployed safely and effectively. The role combines technical leadership, hands-on implementation oversight, and project coordination in highly regulated, mission-critical environments. It is an opportunity to contribute to infrastructure modernization that supports the reliability and safety of national air traffic operations.

Accountabilities

    • Develop, manage, and monitor site implementation schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.

    • Prepare and deliver program status reports, progress updates, and briefings for stakeholders and leadership.

    • Lead pre-site surveys and coordinate on-site assessments, ensuring technical requirements are identified, documented, and addressed.

    • Coordinate internal engineering teams and external contractors throughout installation and implementation activities.

    • Oversee hardware installation, equipment setup, and configuration to ensure compliance with technical specifications.

    • Supervise software installation and configuration in accordance with system requirements.

    • Conduct Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) to validate installation quality and completeness.

    • Facilitate and document equipment cabinet design, layout, and hardware installation activities.

    • Coordinate Initial Operating Capability (IOC) activities to confirm that systems are operational and ready for use.

    • Conduct Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and lead Operational Readiness Declarations (ORDs) to certify site readiness for full operational deployment.

    • Proactively identify and manage project risks, schedule constraints, and implementation issues.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure seamless project execution.

    • Requirements:

      • Minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience and a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.

      • Five years of relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.

      • A master's degree or MBA in a related field may substitute for a bachelor's degree and three years of experience.

      • A PhD in a related field may substitute for a bachelor's degree and seven years of experience.

      • Experience working with live radio operational systems, radar, or other safety-critical infrastructure.

      • Knowledge of systems engineering methodologies and system integration best practices.

      • Experience leading or providing engineering oversight for site assessments, equipment installations, or system cutovers.

      • Familiarity with networking, power, grounding, and infrastructure standards in mission-critical environments.

      • Experience supporting system integration testing, site acceptance testing, and operational readiness activities.

      • Ability to provide technical leadership, direction, and guidance to field teams and integration personnel.

      • Ability to travel up to 25%, with the possibility of additional travel depending on availability and preference.

      • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident with at least three years of U.S. residency.

        • Background in computer systems, electronics, or telecommunications.

        • Experience with mission-critical operational systems, including radio communications.

        • Familiarity with rack-based systems, laboratory environments, or data centers.

        • Experience supporting site surveys, pre-installation planning, and system cutover activities.

        • Strong troubleshooting skills across complex hardware, software, and network interfaces.

        • Familiarity with configuration management, change control, and safety-critical or regulated environments.

        • Benefits:
