This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Powerplant Consultant based in United Kingdom.

Take on a senior consulting role supporting complex aircraft engine programmes across international airline and leasing portfolios.
You will act as a virtual powerplant manager, helping clients optimise engine performance, maintenance strategies, and asset value.
The position combines deep technical expertise with commercial insight, covering everything from fleet planning to engine shop visits and asset transactions.
You will work closely with airlines, lessors, OEMs, and MRO providers on high-value aviation projects.
Your recommendations will help improve operational efficiency, control maintenance costs, and inform strategic investment decisions.
You will also contribute to client relationships, business development, and the development of junior team members.
The role offers a flexible, international working environment, with remote options across Europe.

    • Act as a virtual powerplant manager for airline and aircraft leasing clients, providing technical and strategic engine support.

    • Lead fleet planning, maintenance forecasting, and engine strategy optimisation across assigned portfolios.

    • Manage engine shop visit events end to end, including workscope definition, repair oversight, cost control, and post-visit reporting.

    • Conduct Engine Health Monitoring (EHM) and Engine Condition Monitoring (ECM) analysis, preparing clear technical reports and recommendations.

    • Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives to improve operational efficiency across engine programmes.

    • Lead technical due diligence, engine transitions, and asset inspections, including records reviews, borescope inspections, and physical checks.

    • Negotiate with OEMs and MRO providers on service agreements, repair scopes, and execution.

    • Provide technical input into engine lease, sale, and purchase agreements.

    • Support new engine selection, asset evaluations, and investment decisions.

    • Mentor junior engineers and consultants, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.

    • Contribute to business development activities and maintain strong client relationships.

    • Requirements

      • 10+ years of experience in powerplant or engine-focused aviation roles.

      • Strong technical knowledge of major engine platforms, including CFM, GE, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, and IAE.

      • Proven experience managing engine shop visits and developing engine lifecycle plans.

      • Solid understanding of aircraft engine leasing, maintenance economics, and commercial contracts.

      • Experience working with airlines, aircraft lessors, OEMs, or MRO organisations.

      • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to connect technical recommendations with financial and operational outcomes.

      • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.

      • Ability to manage complex projects independently while collaborating effectively with international teams.

      • Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.

      • Benefits

        • Opportunity to work on international engine portfolios and high-value aviation assets.

        • Flexible working arrangements, with remote options available across Europe.

        • Exposure to complex technical, operational, and commercial decision-making.

        • Collaborative and international team environment.

        • Opportunities for career progression into leadership positions or specialist consulting tracks.
