Summary: Assigns work for drivers for the conveyance of freight by performing the following duties: Responsibilities: · Compiles and maintains list of available drivers. · Assigns trucks according to availability, purpose of trip, and freight. · Issues record sheets, and all related paperwork to drivers. · Trouble shooting and notifying appropriate parties of any changes. · Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return. · Investigates overdue vehicles. · Directs activities of drivers by two-way radio. · Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise. · Heavy communication with drivers on a daily basis. · Other duties as they may be assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
