About The Role
As the most senior person aboard, you are trusted with the safety of our guests, our crew and the care of the vessel. You’ll work hand in hand with our Hospitality and Catering teams to deliver a seamless guest experience. You’ll also have the backing of a marine operations team that values professionalism, sound judgement and pride in the job.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking full command of the vessel and ensuring its safe, compliant operation at all times
  • Completing pre-departure checks and routine tests of navigation, steering and engine control systems
  • Leading, mentoring and developing your crew, setting the standard for safety and professionalism
  • Conducting safety drills and confidently managing emergency situations
  • Overseeing the safe, efficient and timely boarding and disembarkation of guests
  • Ensuring the vessel is well maintained and seaworthy, reporting defects through MEX
  • Upholding the Safety Management System and protecting the marine environment
  • Reporting incidents and near-misses and maintaining accurate vessel logs
  • Working closely with the Venue Manager and shoreside teams to deliver a great guest experience
  • Caring for the company’s vessels as if they were your own

About You

You’re a Master who understands that commanding a vessel on Sydney Harbour is both a privilege and a craft. You’re at your best in busy waters and you bring the same calm, sound judgement to a packed Saturday evening as to a quiet weekday morning. Your crew trust you, your guests feel looked after the moment they step aboard, and safety is never something you leave to chance.
