Business Intelligence Analyst.

DATA & ML
At First Gen we take pride in our work of energizing the Philippines through clean power generation technologies. As we grow to become the best in the industry, we are continuously searching for talent who are driven, empowered, and passionate about making a positive difference in the world. We provide employees with ample opportunities and resources that enable them to perform at their best, contribute value, and help us achieve our Mission of “forging collaborative pathways for a decarbonized and regenerative future.” First Gen wants you to be good at your job and be successful at it. To this end, we will invest in your professional and personal growth by providing you with the right tools to effectively carry out your role as well as learning and development opportunities to advance your career. The Business Intelligence Analyst analyzes energy markets, trends, and policies to provide insights and recommendations for energy-related decision-making, focusing on long-term to medium-term revenue optimization strategy. In this role, the Analyst will specialize in quantitative market simulation and fundamental asset modelling to provide market demand and supply situation, outlook of WESM prices, data support to strategic contracting and investment decisions. Working closely with senior members of the CSRO-BI team, you will translate complex market data into actionable business insights. The following list is provided to set an expectation of the “core” responsibilities of the role and is not intended to be an exhaustive list that covers all tasks that may be required on a day-to-day basis. It should be expected that the role and associated tasks are likely to evolve over time and that there will be situations where tasks not listed below will need to be undertaken to support business growth initiatives: Market Simulation & Forecasting: Develop, maintain, and refine structural energy market models to simulate price behavior, supply-demand dynamics, and grid constraints over medium- to long-term horizons. Asset Dispatch Modelling: Develop, validate, and run mathematical models to project the optimal dispatch and operational profiles of physical generating assets in the portfolio. This includes modeling market participation strategies, technical constraints (e.g., ramp rates, state of charge, cycling degradation), and contractual obligations to maximize merchant revenues and grid services value under volatile price scenarios. Strategic Insights: Translate complex simulation outputs into clear, data-driven recommendations for senior leadership to guide revenue optimization and investment strategies. Policy & Trend Analysis: Monitor and model the quantitative impacts of regulatory shifts, changes in market rules, and macroeconomic trends on energy markets. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior members of the CSRO-BI team to deliver high-quality data support, analysis, and ad-hoc reports for critical business initiatives of different stakeholders.
