About the role

As a Voice AI Engineer, you'll work on the core of Callab AI: agents that listen, reason, and respond in real time on live phone calls. You'll own latency, conversation quality, and reliability for customers who run thousands of calls a day.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve real-time speech and LLM pipelines

• Reduce latency and keep conversations natural

• Create evaluations that measure agent quality on real calls

• Work with the founders on what ships next

Requirements

• 3+ years building production backend systems

• Strong Python or TypeScript

• Experience with LLMs in production

• Comfort owning problems end to end in a small team

Nice to have

• Experience with speech recognition, TTS, or streaming audio

• Familiarity with WebRTC or SIP
