DBS Wealth Management Technology - EdgeTech Team About the Role We are seeking a meticulous and independent Software Developer with a solid technical foundation to join our EdgeTech team within Wealth Management Technology. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical skills with a growth mindset, approaching problems from multiple angles and leveraging modern development practices and AI-assisted tools thoughtfully to deliver high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust applications using spec-driven development approaches across React, Spring Boot, Python, and other modern technologies Independently analyze requirements, identify potential blockers, and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision Write clean, maintainable code following established design patterns and best practices Effectively utilize JIRA, Confluence, and other collaboration tools for documentation and knowledge sharing Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with a methodical, solution-oriented approach Required Skills & Experience Programming & Development Solid programming skills in Java, Python, or similar languages Experience with modern technology stacks including Spring Boot, React, and Python Strong understanding of coding principles, design patterns, and software engineering best practices Proficiency with Git/Bitbucket version control and collaborative development workflows Database & Data Management Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB) Experience with database design, optimization, and querying AI-Assisted Development Deep understanding of AI models and their appropriate use cases - not just "vibe coding" Demonstrated ability to select and use the right AI tools (Claude Code, Gemini-cli, etc.) based on specific task requirements Knowledge of various AI models (Claude Opus/Sonnet/Haiku, Gemini variants, etc.) and their strengths/limitations Ability to contribute to model evaluation and optimization for AI tools within the organization Experience applying AI assistance in a disciplined, spec-driven development approach DevOps & Deployment Good understanding of DevOps practices and tools Familiarity with Jenkins, Docker, and OpenShift deployments Experience with CI/CD pipelines Tools & Collaboration Proficiency with JIRA for task management and tracking Experience with Confluence for documentation and knowledge management Ability to work efficiently within DBS's technology ecosystem Preferred Skills (Good to Have) JavaScript/TypeScript programming skills for frontend development Knowledge of data engineering concepts and practices Experience with modern frontend frameworks and libraries Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science 2-5 years of relevant software development experience Key Qualities We're Looking For Analytical Mindset - Ability to think through solutions from all possible angles before implementation Independence - Comfortable working autonomously, resolving blockers, and driving tasks to completion Meticulous Nature - Attention to detail in code quality, testing, and documentation Growth Mindset - Eagerness to learn new technologies and continuously improve skills Problem-Solving - Proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges Right Attitude - Collaborative, positive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment Solid Foundation -Strong fundamental understanding of software engineering principles that enables quick adaptation to new technologies and frameworks About EdgeTech Team The EdgeTech team is part of Wealth Management Technology, focused on delivering cutting-edge solutions that drive innovation in wealth management.
