Staff Software QA Engineer, Entrust Agentic Trust.

STAFF LEVELQA
Join us at Entrust  At Entrust, we’re shaping the future of identity centric security solutions. From our comprehensive portfolio of solutions to our flexible, global workplace, we empower careers, foster collaboration, and build solutions that help keep the world moving safely.  Entrust's values are a cornerstone of who we are, our future business growth and how our people grow through it. We model our values by demonstrating that Customer Trust Is Earned, moving with purpose because Speed Is Intentional, taking accountability because We Own the Outcome, and building a collaborative culture where One Entrust Wins Together.    Get to Know Us  Headquartered in Minnesota, Entrust is an industry leader in identity-centric security solutions, serving over 150 countries with cutting-edge, scalable technologies. But our secret weapon? Our people. It’s the curiosity, dedication, and innovation that drive our success and help us anticipate the future.  Position Summary The Staff Software Quality Assurance Engineer is a senior individual contributor who provides cross-team technical leadership for quality engineering across the Entrust Agentic Trust solution. The role defines automation architecture and risk-based quality strategies for a multi-tenant software as a service (SaaS) platform, ensuring capabilities remain secure, reliable, robust, and scalable under demanding production conditions. Working with Product, the Platform Architect, Software Development, Security, and Cloud Operations, this role remains deeply hands-on while establishing reusable test frameworks and quality practices across the Identity, Authority, Execution, and Assurance planes. The Staff Engineer owns complex quality challenges spanning services and build tracks, leads systemic improvements, and influences release decisions through clear evidence of product risk and readiness. Key Responsibilities Own cross-team quality strategy, automation architecture, and risk-based coverage for distributed, multi-tenant SaaS services, APIs, SDKs, and integration surfaces. Design and implement reusable automation frameworks, test libraries, service simulators, and deterministic test-data capabilities that support parallel execution and maintainable coverage. Embed automated unit, integration, contract, API, end-to-end, and regression testing into CI/CD pipelines; establish actionable quality gates and reduce flaky tests and feedback time. Lead performance and scalability validation through workload modeling, load, stress, spike, soak, and capacity testing; assess latency, throughput, resource consumption, and tenant fairness against agreed service objectives. Define robustness and resilience testing for dependency failures, network disruption, retries, timeouts, recovery, concurrency, and partial outages; validate graceful degradation and fail-open or fail-closed behavior against approved policies. Partner with Security and Architecture to validate identity, delegated authorization, tenant isolation, evidence integrity, replay, continuous authentication, and content provenance, including negative and boundary scenarios. Establish production-representative test environments and synthetic or approved de-identified data practices; validate upgrades, backward compatibility, migrations, and rollback readiness. Lead complex defect investigations using logs, traces, metrics, and reproducible experiments; drive cross-team root-cause analysis and systemic prevention. Define quality reporting that makes coverage, escaped defects, automation reliability, performance risks, and release readiness transparent without relying solely on test pass rates. Mentor quality and software engineers, lead test-design reviews, and create reusable guidance that strengthens quality ownership across development teams. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 10+ years of professional software quality engineering or software development experience, including hands-on automation and cross-team technical leadership. Advanced programming skills in at least one modern language and demonstrated experience designing scalable, maintainable automation frameworks rather than relying only on record-and-playback tools. Deep experience testing cloud-native SaaS platforms at scale, including distributed systems, APIs, asynchronous workflows, multi-tenancy, and production operations. Demonstrated expertise in performance, scalability, and resilience testing, including realistic workload design, bottleneck analysis, and interpretation of production telemetry. Strong knowledge of CI/CD, containers, test-environment orchestration, test-data management, service virtualization, and automated quality gates. Ability to lead ambiguous technical initiatives across teams, communicate risk clearly, and influence architectural and release decisions without positional authority. Preferred Qualifications Experience with identity, PKI, cryptography, OAuth 2.x, mTLS, workload identity, HSM-backed services, authorization, or tamper-evident evidence systems. Experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, fault injection, chaos testing, and high-availability SaaS architectures. Experience with Chaos Monkey or equivalent fault-injection tooling to validate SaaS resilience, recovery, and service continuity under simulated infrastructure failures. Familiarity with agentic AI, MCP, nondeterministic workflows, continuous authentication, or content provenance testing. Experience producing traceable verification evidence for regulated or security-sensitive products and third-party assurance requirements.
