FULL TIMEREMOTELEADERSHIPSALES & MARKETING

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Business Development based in the United States .

This is an exciting opportunity for a business development professional to drive growth and strengthen market presence across the individual life insurance and investment sectors. In this strategic, fully remote role, you will manage relationships with financial advisors and Managing General Agencies (MGAs), serving as a trusted partner and commercial advisor. You will promote insurance and investment solutions, develop new business opportunities, and support partners in achieving their sales objectives. Working closely with internal teams, you will contribute to go-to-market strategies, market intelligence, and continuous product improvement. The role combines territory ownership, relationship building, training, and strategic outreach, with regular travel throughout Ontario. You will play a key part in expanding distribution networks and delivering sustainable business growth.

Accountabilities:

    • Business Development & Relationship Management:

      • Build, develop, and maintain strong business relationships with financial advisors and Managing General Agencies (MGAs) across the assigned territory.

      • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and partner engagement.

      • Schedule and deliver individual and group presentations that communicate the organization's value proposition and product offering.

      • Represent the organization at industry conferences, professional events, and networking activities.

      • Product Promotion & Advisory Support:

        • Promote individual life insurance, living benefits, and investment products to advisors and distribution partners.

        • Develop and adapt innovative sales concepts tailored to partner needs and market opportunities.

        • Provide product information and sales guidance to help advisors identify appropriate solutions for their clients.

        • Support advisors with case analysis and problem-solving, particularly for complex or specialized files.

        • Partner Training & Development:

          • Design, organize, and deliver engaging training sessions covering insurance solutions, sales strategies, and technology platforms.

          • Strengthen partner knowledge and confidence in presenting and selling the available product portfolio.

          • Identify partner development needs and provide ongoing support to improve sales effectiveness.

          • Market Intelligence & Strategic Growth:

            • Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging opportunities across the territory.

            • Gather feedback from advisors and distribution partners to identify opportunities to improve product competitiveness and marketing resources.

            • Provide strategic recommendations based on market intelligence and field insights.

            • Participate in the development and execution of go-to-market strategies designed to achieve business development and sales targets.

            • Operational Coordination & Compliance:

              • Coordinate business files and follow-up activities between field partners and internal head-office teams.

              • Ensure effective communication and smooth collaboration throughout the business development process.

              • Uphold strict privacy, regulatory compliance, and personal data protection standards.

              • Take on additional responsibilities as required by evolving business needs.

              • Requirements:

                • Territory Management: Willingness and ability to travel frequently by car throughout the assigned territory, managing partner relationships and business development activities independently.

                • Language Skills: Full professional fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge or understanding of French is a strong asset to facilitate collaboration with teams based in Quebec.
