Electrical Engineer II.

FULL TIMEREMOTEMIDDLE LEVELENGINEERING$83K–104.1K/YR

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Electrical Engineer II based in the United States.

As an Electrical Engineer II, you will contribute to the design and development of electrical systems for hyperscale data centers and other mission-critical facilities. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will strengthen your technical expertise while supporting complex infrastructure projects from initial design through construction and project completion. You will prepare engineering drawings, perform electrical calculations, develop technical specifications, and assist with construction administration. The role offers opportunities to collaborate closely with project managers, senior design professionals, and clients. You will also leverage digital and AI-powered tools to improve engineering workflows and deliver high-quality solutions. This fully remote opportunity combines technical development, hands-on project experience, and the chance to contribute to critical infrastructure across the United States.

Accountabilities:

  • Electrical Design and Documentation: Perform intermediate to advanced electrical engineering tasks under the guidance of senior engineers, including system design, technical calculations, and electrical analysis. Prepare engineering drawings and visual documentation using AutoCAD and Revit, and assist with developing and reviewing basic sequences of operations.
  • Pre-Construction Activities: Survey existing building conditions, document technical findings, collect project data, and contribute to the preparation of design and construction documents. Assist with editing and developing project specifications.
  • Construction Administration: Collaborate with engineering and project management teams throughout construction. Review shop drawings and technical submittals, respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), and support punch list preparation and project closeout activities.
  • Project Reporting and Coordination: Prepare progress reports for internal and external stakeholders, maintain shop drawing and RFI logs, track individual project hours, and ensure assigned deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.
  • Technology and Continuous Improvement: Leverage AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, reduce manual tasks, and improve work quality. Identify opportunities for process improvements and actively contribute to the adoption of innovative digital solutions.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders, support project objectives, follow applicable safety requirements, and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, with a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals.
  • At least 3 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of building electrical systems, including single-phase and three-phase power distribution, lighting systems and controls, grounding, and life safety systems.
  • Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and design standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), Life Safety Codes, and Energy Conservation Codes.
  • Experience with electrical engineering calculations and technical software, including short-circuit coordination, arc flash studies, equipment sizing, and lighting calculations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for producing engineering drawings and visual documentation.
  • Familiarity with electrical code analysis, equipment selection, wiring requirements, and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams, along with strong file management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to improve workflows, optimize processes, and support innovation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prepare technical reports, project documentation, and correspondence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and non-technical information and communicate directly with clients.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work successfully in a fully remote environment, demonstrating self-motivation, initiative, resourcefulness, and effective communication.
  • Willingness to comply with company and site safety requirements.
  • Travel availability: Approximately 10% domestic travel, potentially involving any of the 50 U.S. states.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including remaining stationary for extended periods, moving through office and facility environments, and occasionally lifting equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be provided where necessary.
  • Benefits:

  • Competitive annual salary: $83,000–$104,125, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
  • Choice of comprehensive medical insurance plans, including two PPO options and a high-deductible health plan (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account (HSA) option.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
  • Dental and vision insurance.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage available for spouses or domestic partners and dependent children up to age 26.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching and a self-directed brokerage account option.
  • Paid time off (PTO), including additional paid leave during the final week of the year.
  • Company-paid life insurance for employees and eligible dependents.
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage.
  • Professional development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and assistance with professional licensing.
  • Paid parental leave after one year of employment.
  • Fully remote working arrangement, allowing employees to work from anywhere in the United States.
