This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Global Investigator based in France.
As a Global Investigator, you will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and disrupting cryptocurrency-enabled crime. Working within an international investigations team, you will be responsible for reviewing incoming complaints, validating AI-generated investigative findings, and directing cases toward the appropriate recovery or enforcement actions. Your decisions will help turn intelligence into tangible outcomes, including asset freezes, takedowns, seizures, and victim support. You will use blockchain analysis and a broad range of intelligence sources to identify suspicious activity, trace funds, and uncover actionable leads. The role combines hands-on investigation, analytical judgment, and daily use of AI tools in a fast-paced operational environment. Working across EMEA hours, you will also help maintain continuous global coverage through effective collaboration and shift handoffs.
Accountabilities
-
Complaint Triage and Case Disposition: Review and process high volumes of incoming complaints, validate available information, and determine whether cases should progress to asset freezes, takedowns, recovery handoffs, legal-process preparation, victim notifications, or closure.
-
AI Output Validation: Review findings generated by AI-powered investigation tools, identify false positives, merged criminal networks, and incorrectly classified scam patterns, and correct errors before they affect downstream investigations.
-
Blockchain Analysis and Fund Tracing: Investigate cryptocurrency transactions across multiple blockchains, trace funds through consolidation wallets, and identify regulated exchanges or other actionable endpoints.
-
Intelligence Enrichment: Use more than 40 commercial data-source integrations and other intelligence tools to enrich complaint information, validate indicators, and strengthen investigative leads.
-
Case Development: Take ownership of the most critical complaints beyond initial triage, contributing to investigations that can lead to asset freezes, seizures, arrests, takedowns, or recoveries.
-
Global Operational Coordination: Maintain clear and accurate shift handoffs, communicate time-sensitive developments, and ensure that important leads continue progressing across international teams and time zones.
-
Incident Response: Participate in a formal on-call rotation to support urgent events, including cryptocurrency hacks, law-enforcement requests, and other high-priority investigations.
-
Continuous Improvement: Respond quickly to complaint surges and live disruption events while identifying emerging patterns in crypto-enabled crime and improving investigative workflows.
-
Professional Experience: At least 4 years of investigative or analytical experience in the public or private sector, including practical experience with blockchain analysis.
-
Blockchain Investigation: Demonstrated ability to trace cryptocurrency funds across multiple chains and investigate transaction flows.
-
Address Attribution: Experience attributing blockchain addresses to real-world individuals or entities, with the judgment to distinguish between unattributed services and privately controlled, unhosted wallets.
-
Investigative Outcomes: Experience building or contributing to cases that have resulted in asset freezes, seizures, arrests, takedowns, or similar enforcement actions.
-
AI Fluency: Strong practical experience using AI tools as part of daily investigative or analytical workflows, including the ability to critically assess AI-generated findings and recognize when outputs are inaccurate.
-
Analytical Judgment: Strong investigative instincts, attention to detail, and the ability to make sound decisions when information is incomplete or ambiguous.
-
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings clearly and coordinate effectively with colleagues across regions.
-
Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities, project scope, and operational demands may change frequently.
-
Collaboration: Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a globally distributed, multidisciplinary team.
-
Availability: Willingness to participate in a weekly on-call rotation, including occasional weekend coverage when required.
-
Fully remote working arrangement within the EMEA region.
-
Standard business-hours schedule aligned with your local time zone.
-
Opportunity to work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, national security, and crime prevention.
-
Exposure to complex, high-impact investigations and evolving cryptocurrency crime patterns.
-
Collaboration with experienced investigators and blockchain intelligence specialists across international teams.
-
Opportunities to develop advanced investigative skills and practical AI capabilities.
-
High-ownership environment offering opportunities to contribute directly to operational outcomes.
-
Opportunity to support a mission focused on disrupting criminal activity and helping build a safer world.
As part of the global investigations and triage function, you will assess incoming intelligence, determine the appropriate next steps for each case, and help move high-priority investigations toward meaningful enforcement and recovery outcomes.
