Digital Consulting Senior Manager, Oracle ERP Higher Education.

REMOTELEADERSHIPSALES & MARKETING$165K–190K/YR
Huron helps its clients drive growth, enhance performance and sustain leadership in the markets they serve. We collaborate with education organizations to develop strategies and implement solutions that enable the transformative change our clients need to own their future. Together, we empower clients to drive innovation, create sustainable funding streams and deliver better student outcomes. Today, leaders of higher education institutions and academic medical centers are spending too much time reacting to market forces, rather than focusing on the essential priorities that help students, faculty and staff thrive. The most productive path forward requires an intentional approach and innovative thinking, whereby stakeholders across the entire institution rally around a shared vision and embrace the hard work of effecting change. You’ll help our clients to achieve organizational effectiveness, improve student outcomes, implement new technologies and align resources and investments to ensure long-term sustainability. Join our team as the expert you are now and create your future. Senior Managers serve in an outward-facing, hands-on, and multi-faceted role combining project and engagement management, team leadership and material interaction with clients at both tactical and strategic levels. While activities vary based on project size/scope and individual skill-sets and strengths, the Senior Manager can expect to spend considerable time on client-facing engagements through all project phases (pursuit to delivery), project management, and intensive data-analysis to implement impactful recommendations. Additionally, Senior Managers time will revolve around overall practice development, the mentorship of Coachees (when assigned), and general project/organizational administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities: Lead design for Chart of Accounts and end-to-end accounting in cloud-based ERP Financials and EPM implementations, with a focus on higher education and public sector organizations, ensuring alignment with fund accounting principles, FASB and/or GASB standards, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices. Lead functional design for Chart of Accounts governance enabled by Oracle Enterprise Data Management (EDM); develop hands-on skills for functional application tasks (technical expertise not required). Evaluate institutions’ use of Oracle Cloud ERP and identify optimizations related to financial management and reporting, accounting, controls, and reconciliation. Partner with finance leaders and stakeholders at all levels of the institution to translate accounting, budgeting, and financial management requirements into future-state ERP designs that support transparency, control, and scalability. Provide functional expertise across institutions’ financial operations and accounting, including areas such as general accounting, endowment accounting, payroll accounting, research accounting, budgeting, and related financial reporting. Collaborate with integration, conversion, reporting, finance, grants, payroll, and student or affiliate systems teams to ensure end-to-end financial process alignment. Support pre-sales and business development activities, including contributing to solution approaches, proposals, and client presentations for higher education and public sector engagements. Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner, bringing awareness of ERP and financial management trends, cloud transformation strategies, and vendor roadmaps (Oracle or comparable platforms). Contribute to the development of standards, templates, and best practices to support consistent, high-quality ERP implementations across public sector and higher education clients. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 5–7 years of experience supporting financial management, accounting, or ERP implementations for higher education and/or public sector organizations. Demonstrated experience with FASB and/or GASB accounting standards, fund accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. Experience working with Oracle Financials Cloud or another ERP financial system (e.g., Workday, SAP, Unit4, PeopleSoft), ideally as part of an implementation team, business analyst, or accountant. Strong functional understanding of higher education or related business functions, including General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, and financial reporting. Ability to bridge finance, accounting, and technology, translating business and regulatory needs into practical system designs. Experience supporting or leading workshops, stakeholder discussions, and design sessions with finance and institutional leadership. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build credibility with clients and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Interest in mentoring and supporting the development of consulting staff, particularly in public sector and higher education finance domains. Proven ability to support multiple concurrent initiatives across varying scopes and timelines. Willingness to travel up to 50%, as needed, to support client engagements and project teams.
