FULL TIMEREMOTEFINANCE & LEGAL$39.2K–65.4K/YR

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Analyste en calcul des prestations based in Canada.

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Benefits Calculation Analyst to join a dynamic team specializing in life, disability, and wellness services. In this role, you will be responsible for calculating and adjusting short-term and long-term disability benefits while ensuring accuracy and compliance with group insurance policies. You will play an important role in managing overpayments, supporting recovery activities, and communicating financial information clearly to plan members. Your ability to interpret insurance contracts and assess different income sources will be essential to delivering reliable outcomes. Combining analytical expertise with a strong customer service mindset, you will help ensure a positive and supportive experience for members navigating disability claims. This fully remote opportunity offers a collaborative environment, ongoing learning, and opportunities for professional growth.

Accountabilities:

  • Calculate and enter disability benefit deductions (offsets) and adjusted short-term disability (STD) and long-term disability (LTD) payments into the internal Navigator system.
  • Review benefit calculations to ensure accuracy and consistency with applicable group disability insurance policies and contractual provisions.
  • Identify and communicate overpayment amounts to plan members, providing clear, accurate, and empathetic explanations both verbally and in writing.
  • Follow up with plan members regarding outstanding overpayments and coordinate appropriate repayment arrangements.
  • Negotiate reasonable and mutually acceptable repayment plans when necessary, taking individual circumstances into consideration.
  • Manage and complete disability claim recovery activities within the Navigator system.
  • Maintain accurate records of calculations, communications, repayment agreements, and recovery actions.
  • Contribute to efficient claims administration by ensuring timely follow-ups, effective case management, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Requirements:

  • Previous professional experience in disability benefit calculations, including familiarity with short-term and long-term disability insurance benefits.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform accurate financial calculations.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply group insurance contracts and understand how different income sources affect disability benefit payments.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to demonstrate empathy and professionalism when communicating sensitive or potentially difficult financial information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly when explaining calculations, overpayments, and repayment arrangements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
  • Adaptability, openness to change, and a commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.
  • Ability to learn from both successes and challenges and apply feedback to improve performance.
  • Preferred: Bilingual proficiency in French and English. Candidates based in Quebec must be proficient in both languages to support clients in other provinces.
  • Preferred: Previous experience using the Navigator claims administration system.
  • Benefits:

  • Competitive Salary: Annual base salary ranging from CAD $39,225 to $65,375, depending on qualifications, experience, skills, and geographical location.
  • Performance-Based Incentives: Potential eligibility for additional incentive programs linked to individual and company performance.
  • Fully Remote Work: Work remotely from eligible locations across Canada, with flexibility within the organization's working arrangements.
  • Comprehensive Healthcare Coverage: Access to customizable medical, dental, vision, and mental health benefits for eligible employees.
  • Disability and Insurance Protection: Short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.
  • Family Support Benefits: Coverage options for adoption, surrogacy, and non-emergency medical care.
  • Employee Assistance Program: Resources and support services for employees and their families.
  • Retirement and Savings Plans: Access to retirement savings options, pension plans, and an international employee share ownership program with employer matching contributions, subject to eligibility.
  • Paid Time Off: Generous paid leave provisions, including statutory holidays, annual vacation, personal days, and sick leave.
  • Professional Development: Access to continuous learning opportunities, career development resources, and support for long-term professional growth.
  • Inclusive Work Environment: A flexible, collaborative workplace that values employee well-being, diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunities.
